About KXBuild

Every computer
can build iOS apps.

We're an engineering team focused on iOS tooling. We write every layer ourselves, from the compiler and debugger to the VS Code extension, with one goal. The computer in front of you should be all you need to develop for iOS.

Mission

Build for iOS
on the computer you already have.

Most of the world's developers use Windows. To make an iOS app, they have to switch to a different setup or hand their code to a cloud build queue.

We want to remove that barrier. An iPhone and a computer are all you need. Change a line of code and see it on your phone seconds later.

What we believe

Great tools do a few things exceptionally well

  1. 01

    Native, no detours

The toolchain runs natively on your machine, whether it's Windows, Linux or macOS. Building, installing and debugging all happen on the computer in front of you.

  2. 02

    Your project, as it is

Xcode projects, CocoaPods and Swift packages just work. The commands are compatible with xcodebuild, so you don't have to rewrite your scripts or pipelines.

  3. 03

    Speed is a feature

Every second between saving your code and seeing the change on your phone counts. Incremental builds, code completion and debugging are all tuned to that standard.

  4. 04

    Built to last

We keep up with every Xcode and iOS release. When you trust your project to KXBuild, we take responsibility for every build.

What we built

The whole toolchain, from editor to device

We built a native implementation of every step of iOS development, then tied them together in one VS Code extension. You press F5 and KXBuild does the rest.

Our story

How we got here

  1. 2022

    The project starts

One goal. Compile an iOS app from source on Windows and run it on an iPhone.

  2. 2023

    First run on a device

An app built on Windows installs on an iPhone, and the toolchain takes shape.

  3. 2024

    VS Code extension launches

Creating projects, building and on-device debugging come to the editor. Press F5 to run.

  4. 2025

    Cross-platform frameworks

The iOS side of Flutter, React Native, uni-app and other popular frameworks builds and debugs directly.

  5. 2026

    A complete development experience

Native Swift package builds, Kotlin Multiplatform support, xcodebuild compatibility and a growing set of visual editors.
